What is PHPDirector?

PHPDirector is a PHP video management system for your website. It's coded in PHP and uses MySQL, making it compatible with virtually every shared web host available.

The script is easily editable — you can use your own theme via the theming system, or change the language files with the easy-to-use language switcher. Whether you want to run a niche video site, a community video portal, or a YouTube-style platform for your organization, PHPDirector gives you the tools to do it.

Our Philosophy

PHPDirector has been freely available for years. We don't make profit from the script in any way. Our goal is to allow people to use our script all over the internet for free, instead of paying hundreds of dollars for comparable commercial solutions.

🆕 100% Free & Open Source

PHPDirector is free software. You may edit, modify, and rebrand it as you wish. You cannot sell it without permission.

No Special Server Requirements

Unlike many video CMS solutions, PHPDirector does not require FFMPEG, Memcoder, or any special server configuration. It runs on almost any webserver with PHP & MySQL — including virtually all free web hosts.

  • PHP Version 4.3 or higher
  • MySQL Version 4 or higher
  • MD5 Hash Function (optional, for password hashing)
  • No FFMPEG or video transcoding software needed
  • No root server access required

Community Driven

PHPDirector is a community-driven project. Features are planned based on community feedback and forum discussions. Join the forums to report bugs, request features, and connect with other users.
